What we check every time.

Refrigerant charge

Superheat and subcooling measured against the equipment's own target — the only way to know the charge is right.

Temperature split

Return versus supply across the coil. A weak split tells us about airflow or charge before any part fails.

Condenser coil

Checked deep, not just at the surface. Valley dust packs coils from the inside out and quietly steals capacity.

Capacitors & contactors

Tested under load with a meter. A capacitor reading below tolerance is the #1 cause of July breakdowns.

Blower & static pressure

Filter condition, wheel cleanliness, and duct static — the airflow side that most companies skip entirely.

Condensate & safeties

Drain line cleared, float switch verified, so a clog doesn't shut you down or stain a ceiling.

Why an annual service matters more here

A Las Vegas air conditioner works a season that would count as three anywhere else. From April through October it may run thousands of hours, much of it against outdoor temperatures where the equipment has almost no margin left. Every component ages faster, and the failures cluster in exactly the week you can least afford them.

Almost every emergency no-cool call we run had a visible warning months earlier: a capacitor drifting out of tolerance, a condenser coil packed with fine dust, a drain line already half blocked, a contactor with pitted points. Those are cheap findings in April and expensive emergencies in July.

The honest math is simple. Annual service does not make a system immortal, but it moves most failures from the 110° weekend to a scheduled morning, and it keeps the system running at the capacity you are already paying to operate.

What separates a real service from a $49 special

A proper service produces numbers. Superheat and subcooling compared to the manufacturer's target. Temperature split across the evaporator. Static pressure on both sides of the air handler. Capacitor microfarads measured against the rating stamped on the can. Amp draw on the compressor and condenser fan. If a visit ends without those, nothing was actually diagnosed.

The cheap tune-up special exists to get a technician in your house to sell you something. We price service to be worth doing: the technician has time to take readings, rinse the coil properly, clear the drain, and show you photos of what they found.

You get the report either way — including when the answer is that your system is fine and needs nothing. That happens often, and we say so.

AC service questions

What is included in an air conditioning service?
Refrigerant pressures and superheat/subcool readings, temperature split across the coil, condenser and evaporator coil condition, capacitor and contactor testing, blower and filter check, condensate drain clearing, electrical connections, and thermostat operation. You get the numbers, not just a checkmark.
How often should an AC be serviced in Las Vegas?
Once a year minimum, ideally in spring before the first 100° week. Systems here run far more hours than the national average, so annual service catches a weak capacitor or a loaded coil before it becomes a July no-cool call.
Is a tune-up actually worth it?
When it is a real service, yes. A dirty condenser coil can cut capacity by a fifth and drive up your power bill all summer, and a capacitor reading low is a compressor failure waiting for the hottest day. A rinse-and-run 'tune-up' special is not worth anything — ask any company for the readings they took.
How long does a service visit take?
Usually 45 to 75 minutes for a single system done properly. If it takes fifteen minutes, nothing was measured.
Do you offer a maintenance plan?
Yes — two visits a year (cooling and heating), priority dispatch during heat waves, and a discount on any repair. Details are on our maintenance plans page.
