AC Installation & Replacement · Las Vegas, NV

AC installation sized for a 115° summer.

A new system is only as good as the install. We run a real load calculation, check the ducts before we quote, and set the equipment up so it delivers the efficiency you paid for — with a fixed written price and financing available.

  • Load-calculated sizing, not a square-footage guess
  • Fixed written quote after we inspect ducts and electrical
  • Manufacturer registration handled so your warranty is real

What a proper replacement includes.

Load calculation

Orientation, glazing, insulation, ceiling height, and duct condition — the inputs that decide tonnage.

Duct evaluation

Static pressure and leakage checked first. A new condenser behind undersized ducts will disappoint you.

Equipment options

Two or three options priced side by side with payback math, from solid mid-efficiency to high-SEER2 variable speed.

Clean installation

New line set or flush, proper evacuation, correct charge by weight, tight electrical, and a level pad or curb.

Commissioning

Airflow set, charge verified by superheat and subcooling, temperature split documented, thermostat configured.

Paperwork

Permits where required, warranty registration, rebate documentation, and a copy of the commissioning numbers.

Most 'bad systems' in Las Vegas are bad installations

The failures we get called out to fix on newer equipment almost never trace back to the brand on the label. They trace back to install shortcuts: a system sized off square footage and set two tons too large, a line set never properly evacuated so moisture is circulating through the refrigerant circuit, a charge added by gauge pressure instead of weighed in, or airflow that was never measured, let alone set.

Oversizing deserves special mention because it is so common and so counterintuitive. A too-large system cools the thermostat's little corner of the house quickly and shuts off, which sounds efficient and is not. It never runs long enough to pull humidity during monsoon weeks, it cycles the compressor far more often than it should, and the rooms furthest from the air handler stay hot because the run time never lasts long enough to balance the house. Living with an oversized system feels exactly like living with a failing one.

Ducts are the other half. Much of the Las Vegas housing stock has flex duct run through a 150° attic, and after twenty years of that heat the insulation degrades, joints separate, and the returns are undersized for modern equipment. Bolting a high-efficiency condenser onto that system buys you very little. We measure static pressure before quoting so you know whether duct work belongs in the project instead of finding out in August.

Choosing equipment without the sales theater

We bring options, not a single 'recommended' package with a discount that expires tonight. Typically that means a well-built single-stage system, a two-stage option, and a variable-speed inverter option, each with the real installed price, the manufacturer coverage, and a realistic estimate of what it saves on a valley summer. In a climate with a six-month cooling season, the efficiency premium pays back faster than it does almost anywhere else in the country — but there is still a point of diminishing returns, and where it sits depends on your usage and your rate plan.

Heat pumps are worth a genuine look here too. Winter loads in Las Vegas are mild, which is precisely the condition in which a heat pump is most efficient, and a single system handling both seasons simplifies the equipment picture. For homes with existing gas furnaces in good condition, a straight AC changeout with the furnace left in place is often the smarter spend. Either way, we would rather explain the tradeoff than pick for you.

We also handle the unglamorous parts: permits where the scope requires them, disposal of the old equipment and refrigerant, registering the new equipment with the manufacturer so the full parts term applies, and documenting rebates. Financing is available, and the price you approve is the price you pay.

Veteran-owned, and the same crew every time

Pride Mechanical is veteran-owned and operated, with over a decade of work in the valley and a 5.0 rating across our Google reviews. The people who quote your system are the people who install it — there is no separate commission-only sales department creating a number the install crew then has to live with.

Once the system is in, the maintenance plan keeps it healthy: a spring cooling visit and a fall heating visit, with coil cleaning, charge verification, and an electrical check. Manufacturer warranties expect documented maintenance, and in this climate skipping it is how a fifteen-year system becomes a nine-year system.

AC installation questions

How much does a new AC system cost in Las Vegas?
Residential replacements typically land in a wide range depending on tonnage, efficiency, whether the furnace or air handler is replaced with it, and how much duct or electrical work is needed. We quote a fixed price in writing after a load calculation and a look at your ducts — not a phone estimate that changes on install day.
Do you do a real load calculation?
Yes. Square footage alone is how homes end up with oversized systems that short cycle, never dehumidify, and wear out early. We account for orientation, glazing, insulation, duct condition, and ceiling height before recommending tonnage.
What SEER2 rating makes sense here?
In a climate that runs cooling for six months, higher efficiency pays back faster than it would elsewhere — but there is a point where the premium stops making sense for your usage and NV Energy rate. We show you the payback math for two or three options and let you choose.
Is financing available?
Yes, financing is available on system replacements, and we will walk you through any current manufacturer rebates or NV Energy incentives that apply to the equipment you are considering.
How long does an install take?
A straight residential changeout is usually a single day. Adding duct modifications, a new line set, electrical upgrades, or a roof-mounted package unit can push it to two.
What warranty comes with a new system?
Manufacturer parts coverage on the equipment plus our own workmanship warranty on the installation. We register the equipment for you so the full manufacturer term actually applies — a step that is skipped surprisingly often.
